Roberts Chalet – Modern SIPS Built Home

Built in the Pembrokeshire National Park village of Broad Haven in 2020, our SIPs built modular home replaced an original timber building (Roberts Chalet) constructed approximately 80-90 years ago. 

Initial surveys and Geotechnical data suggested the site would require expensive, pile foundations to overcome adverse soil conditions being so close to the sea, making the project financially unviable. 

Following previous experience on a similar site in Freshwater East, we worked with our Structural Engineer and Architect to re-design the scheme using lightweight Structural Insulated Panels and more conventional, cost-effective raft type foundations. 

The project became a reality and has made a fantastic new home, at an affordable price.
